This is a portrait of Pixie, one of our kitties. Its pretty accurate, if I say so myself. We believe that she was mistreated as a kitten by her foster home, and when we got her she was pretty feral. Now, she likes to sing to us in the mornings and cuddle under the sheets. However, she will forever have the tendency to become a feral ball of fear at random moments for reasons only she knows. Usually at sounds like: when I put down my purse, or shuffle my feet across carpet, or the opening of a door…etc.

It appears I have not sketched for almost a week. I’ve scribbled, literally…but nothing defined enough to recognize. My only excuse is that life happens. My mind has been on the health and well-being of my friends. At any opportunity my mind escapes to them. I feel like I am getting a hold of myself again, and the sketches will resume. Thank you for your patience, and for keeping me honest. I appreciate you all reminding me this is a DAILY sketch blog, and that it will continue to be.

So these are my initial thoughts for the FWA wallpaper – I’m already doing some revisions. Hopefully I’ll be making a little progress every day that I can post.

So, I will be making a wallpaper for one of my most enjoyed sites, the FWA (favorite website awards). If they like it, then they will have it displayed on their site, which would be SWEET. However, I need to incorporate their logo for a better chance of them liking it…so…for the next few days I’ll be posting my progress on this endeavor, or posting my quick, artist-block-releasing sketches, cause those make me laugh. Wish me luck!

Also, let me know if my new way of posting my sketches is or isnt working for you. In some browsers the images get cut off, which is a bummer. If that continues I’m going to have to find a different way of posting my daily sketches. Maybe using flickr.com, who knows.
